The Founder's Journey
For decades, life was shaped by family, hard work, and responsibility. My mother was a dedicated housewife, and my father worked as a tailor, while I spent my early years pursuing education and caring for livestock as a shepherd in the mountains of Hunza. Over time, I moved to the city in search of knowledge, completed my Master’s from the University of Karachi, and later gained international exposure through a Food Safety Program in the United States, where I studied HACCP and earned a diploma from Northampton Community College, Pennsylvania. After returning to Pakistan, I joined Aga Khan University as a researcher, where I began recognizing the untapped potential of Hunza’s natural produce. This realization inspired the creation of Hunza Taste — a purpose-driven initiative aimed at empowering local farmers, reducing wastage, and transforming traditional harvests into value-added products that preserve the true essence of Hunza while creating sustainable economic opportunities.
